Launch of the Carcanet Press Exhibition on Manchester Digital Exhibitions
An exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of Carcanet Press is now available online.

About the Carcanet archive
The University of Manchester Library has held the Carcanet Press since the 1970s, and this focuses on a pivotal moment in CarcanetÇà¹ÏÊÓƵ™s history: the destruction of its offices and papers in the 1996 IRA bombing of the Manchester Exchange. It considers the gap created in CarcanetÇà¹ÏÊÓƵ™s archive and records, the poetry it inspired, and the ripple effect on the city.
Featuring poetry and correspondence, the final showcase also includes by Gregory OÇà¹ÏÊÓƵ™Brien and Mary Griffiths, produced during the pandemic, and suggested by John McAuliffe, Professor of Poetry at the Centre for New Writing, and editor at Carcanet.
